RV-safe navigation that avoids low clearances

Car GPS apps assume you drive a car. RV Itinerary plans every route for your RV's height, length and weight, and steers around bridges and tunnels your rig won't fit under.

An RV-safe route from Denver to Glenwood Springs that avoids a road with an 11 foot 6 inch low clearance

How RV-safe routing works

  1. You enter your rig once. Height (to the highest point, including the A/C and antennas), length, weight and whether you carry propane.
  2. Every route is checked. RV Itinerary compares the route against its low-clearance database of bridges and tunnels.
  3. Blocked roads are avoided. If a route passes under something too low, the app looks for a detour around it. It never draws a route it knows won't clear.
  4. You see the whole picture. Clearances on and near your route appear on the map, and a Route Safety summary covers the whole trip.

What you get on every drive

Your rig, your route

Routes use your RV's height, length and weight, not a generic vehicle profile.

Low-clearance warnings

Red pins for clearances that block your route and orange pins for ones nearby, with the posted height.

Automatic detours

When a road won't clear, RV Itinerary plans around it and labels the leg "Detour around a low clearance."

Turn-by-turn directions

Voice-guided directions on your iPhone or Apple CarPlay.

Fresh clearance data

Update the low-clearance database from Settings whenever you like; your existing data is kept if a download fails.

Clearance data can be incomplete or out of date, and conditions change. RV Itinerary helps you plan, but always obey posted clearance and road signs.

Questions

Does RV Itinerary avoid low bridges and tunnels?
Yes. Every route is checked against a low-clearance database using the height you enter for your RV. A route that passes under a bridge or tunnel too low for your rig isn't used; the app looks for a detour around it and tells you if no RV-safe route can be found. Clearances near your route are shown on the map. Clearance data can be incomplete, so always obey posted signs.
Which kinds of RVs does it work for?
Any RV: Class A, B and C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and camper vans. You enter your rig's height, length, weight and whether you carry propane, and routing uses those details.
Does RV Itinerary work with Apple CarPlay?
Yes. RV Itinerary shows RV-safe, turn-by-turn navigation on your CarPlay screen, along with nearby emergency services and alerts when you're close to places on your bucket list.
