Frequently asked questions

Quick answers about RV Itinerary, RV-safe routing, pricing and devices.

What is RV Itinerary?
RV Itinerary is an iPhone app for planning and driving RV trips. It builds routes for your RV's height, length and weight, warns you about low bridges and tunnels, keeps your campgrounds, reservations and dates in one itinerary, and gives turn-by-turn directions in Apple CarPlay. It's made by RV Itinerary, LLC, a team of RVers.
Is RV Itinerary free?
Yes. The iPhone app is free to download and use, with ads. Premium removes the ads and adds access to the RV Itinerary web app for planning on a computer. See pricing.
How much does RV Itinerary Premium cost?
Premium is $24.99 per year or $1.99 per month (US prices), billed through your Apple Account. You can subscribe or cancel any time in the app or in your iPhone's Settings.
Does RV Itinerary avoid low bridges and tunnels?
Yes. Every route is checked against a low-clearance database using the height you enter for your RV. A route that passes under a bridge or tunnel too low for your rig isn't used; the app looks for a detour around it and tells you if no RV-safe route can be found. Clearances near your route are shown on the map. Clearance data can be incomplete, so always obey posted signs.
Which kinds of RVs does it work for?
Any RV: Class A, B and C motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers and camper vans. You enter your rig's height, length, weight and whether you carry propane, and routing uses those details.
Does RV Itinerary work with Apple CarPlay?
Yes. RV Itinerary shows RV-safe, turn-by-turn navigation on your CarPlay screen, along with nearby emergency services and alerts when you're close to places on your bucket list.
Is RV Itinerary available on Android?
No. RV Itinerary is built for Apple devices: iPhone, iPad and Apple CarPlay, plus a web app for Premium subscribers that works in any modern browser. It requires iOS 18 or later.
Can I plan trips on my computer?
Yes. Premium subscribers can log in to the RV Itinerary web app at rvitinerary.com to plan trips on a bigger screen. Trips, bucket list items and RV details sync between the web app and the iPhone app.
How do I find an RV site for tonight?
Tap Spot 2 Night on the app's Today screen. It searches for RV sites available tonight near you, sized to your RV's length.
Can RV Itinerary find help on the road?
Yes. The Emergency button finds hospitals and clinics, veterinarians, RV repair shops and mobile techs, and towing companies near you, nearest first, with RV-safe directions. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.
How do I know a stop is ready before I go?
Each stop gets a Trip Readiness rating: Ready, Review or High Risk. It checks your travel dates, reservation, site number, campground contact details, location and active weather alerts, so you can fix gaps before travel day.
Does RV Itinerary warn me about bad weather on my trip?
Yes. RV Itinerary checks the stops in the next 7 days of your trip for active severe-weather alerts, and checks the drive to each stop for route alerts. When something new comes up, it sends a notification so you have time to change your route, dates or campground. The same alerts feed each stop's Trip Readiness rating.
Can I share my itinerary or add it to my calendar?
Yes. You can sync trips to Apple Calendar, share a printable PDF of your trip, and Premium subscribers can subscribe to a calendar feed that updates as the trip changes.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose RV Itinerary. You keep Premium until the end of the period you paid for.
